App Support — LocalP2Poller

Getting Started

P2P Polling works entirely over local Wi-Fi and Bluetooth — no internet connection, no accounts, and no setup beyond installing the app.

Presenter: Open the app, select "I'm the Presenter," import or build a question set, and tap the set name to generate a session code. Share the QR code or 4-digit code with students and tap Start Session when everyone has joined.

Student: Open the app, select "I'm a Student," enter a nickname, then scan the QR code or type the 4-digit code to join.

A full step-by-step guide is available inside the app — tap the menu icon (☰) on any screen and open the Guide tab.

System Requirements

Frequently Asked Questions

Students can't find the session. Both devices must be on the same Wi-Fi network, or have Bluetooth enabled. On the student's device, go to Settings → P2P Polling → Local Network and make sure it is set to ON. If the code was entered more than a few minutes ago, restart the session from the setup screen.

The session code isn't working. Make sure the student is entering the exact 4-digit code shown on the presenter's screen. Codes are regenerated each time a new session is set up — if the presenter navigated back and re-opened setup, the code will have changed.

Questions aren't appearing on student devices. The presenter must tap Start Session on the setup screen after students have joined. Questions are only sent once the session is actively started.

The app is asking for Local Network permission. This permission is required for devices to discover each other. Without it, students cannot join sessions. Tap Allow when prompted, or enable it at any time via Settings → P2P Polling → Local Network.

My question file won't import. Supported formats are .txt, .docx, and .pages (exported to .docx). If a file is stored in iCloud Drive and shows a cloud icon, tap it to download it to your device before importing. Password-protected files cannot be imported. See the in-app Guide for the required question format.
